Walton Goggins Says White Lotus Season 3 Cast Had to Spend Their Own Money on Hotel Stay
Aug 15, 2024
Walton Goggins is checking in to The White Lotus in the upcoming third season, but his agents probably should have pushed for an all-inclusive stay. Goggins is among the incredible ensemble cast gathered by showrunner Mike White for Season 3 of HBO’s hit dark comedy. The new season jets the all-star cast off to Thailand, after previous seasons took place in Hawaii and Italy. Details about Goggins’ character are being kept tightly under wraps, but the actor has revealed that the gig wasn’t quite the paid holiday he was expecting.
Appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Walton Goggins was asked about the third season of The White Lotus. The actor quickly established that he couldn’t reveal any plot details, out of fear of Mike White’s wrath. “I can’t tell you about the story of the character that I’m playing because I think Mike White would literally take one of us out,” Goggins declared. However, Goggins was surprisingly open about his stay at the hotel, and the shock he received when he went to check out. Goggins said:
“You get to stay at a five-star [hotel], but what they don’t tell you when you check in to the White Lotus is how expensive it is to check out of the White Lotus. I swear this is a true story — not just for me but for everybody — six weeks into it, I go to pay my bill. I looked at my bill and I started laughing. Literally, [a hotel staffer] handed me the bill and I started laughing like, ‘Ha, yeah right! You guys are joking'”
Even as one of the most popular actors appearing on TV, Goggins forgot to add a clause in his contract about room service. When he tried checking out, he was hit with a shocking bill comprised of some egregiously expensive snacks. Goggins continued:
“You’re telling me Thai spiced cashews cost that much money? I thought I had maybe, like, five. And they said, ‘No, you had 30.'”
Who’s Starring in The White Lotus Season 3

Season 3 is continuing the trend, and might feature the show’s best cast yet. Joining Walton Goggins at The White Lotus Thailand is Scott Glenn, Shalina Peiris, Jason Isaacs, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Parker Posey, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, and the list goes on.

No plot details have been revealed about Season 3 of The White Lotus, but Goggins has teased that working on the show was an incredibly “meta” experience. Fans have had a glimpse of the new season, courtesy of a featurette from HBO about its upcoming programming. The clips featured a selection of the show’s impressive cast across their holiday in Thailand.
