Aug 19, 2024
There have been quite a few attempts to make the “Tomb Raider” franchise something bigger than just a video game series. First came the popular films starring Angeline Jolie. Then years later, we got a film starring Alicia Vikander. And sometime in the future, we’re expecting a series from the mind of Phoebe Waller-Bridge. But for now, all you “Tomb Raider” fans are going to have the upcoming animated series, “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.”

As seen in the teaser for the series, ‘The Legend of Lara Croft’ follows the title character as she once again finds herself hunting artifacts and getting into all sorts of adventures all over the world. The voice cast for the series includes Hayley Atwell, Allen Maldonado, and Earl Baylon.
‘The Legend of Lara Croft’ is written, produced, and showrun by Tasha Huo. The writer is probably best known for working on “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” as well as the forthcoming film, “Red Sonja.”
“Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft” debuts on Netflix on October 10. You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
The animated series TOMB RAIDER: THE LEGEND OF LARA CROFT picks up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy (Tomb Raider; Rise of the Tomb Raider; Shadow of the Tomb Raider), and will chart the globetrotting heroine’s next chapter as the iconic adventurer. More than 25 years after her first appearance, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) continues to explore ancient mysteries and uncover lost truths across breathtaking and dangerous destinations. Following the events of the Survivor series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.
