Josh Brolin & Peter Dinklage Are Twins In First Look At Comedy Heist Movie

Sep 16, 2024

A first look at Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage in Brothers has been released. Directed by Max Barbakow, with a screenplay written by Macon Blair, the upcoming action-comedy stars both Dinklage and Brolin as two unlikely twin brothers who embark on a road trip. The movie, which will release on Prime Video following a run in select theaters, also stars Brendan Fraser, Taylour Paige, Glenn Close, and the late M. Emmet Walsh in his final film role.

Per an article from Entertainment Weekly, first look images of the movie have been released. They give audiences a glimpse of not only the criminal twin brothers played by Dinklage and Brolin, but also the relationship they share with their mother, portrayed by Academy Award nominee Glenn Close. Check them out in a gallery of images below:

What We So Far Know About Brothers

As mentioned above, Brothers will follow two criminal twins who embark on a road trip. One of them is Moke (Brolin), who is trying to leave his past life behind and is now on a straight path, getting back into the world of criminality when his brother Jady (Dinklage) promises him one last job that can make them rich for the rest of their lives. They are joined by their mother, Cath (Close), and attempt to repair a broken relationship between the three.

Brendan Fraser is also in the movie and portrays a character named Farful. While no details on the character have been revealed, the image above shows him arresting Dinklage’s Jady. He could perhaps portray the police officer on the trail of the two criminal siblings as they attempt one last dangerous job before fully leaving their past in the rearview mirror.

Brothers
director Max Barbakow is known for his 2020 feature directorial debut,
Palm Springs
, starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Miloti. The film received significant critical acclaim and multiple accolades.

The movie seems heavily inspired by Ivan Reitman’s Twins, in which two brothers with massive differences reunite and go on a life-changing adventure. While there will be some similarities, the story seems fresh enough to attract viewers who love to see Brolin and Dinklage in more comedic roles, and a return for Brendan Fraser playing lighter characters, as he did in the 1990s and early 2000s. Brothers will release in select theaters on October 10 before making its way to Prime Video on October 17.
