Cooking is an artform. Even though it’s all sustenance at the end of the day, there is care and love and artistry that is put in the best plates of food. That’s seen in the upcoming HBO drama series, “Like Water for Chocolate.”

As seen in the trailer, “Like Water for Chocolate” tells the story of a young woman who is a premier cook in her family home. But considering this is a Mexican drama, you know things aren’t going to go well for Tita. That’s when we see her true love, Pedro, denying his feelings for her and going off to marry her sister. Yes, the trailer is pretty melodramatic, but it all sorta fits the mood they’re going for.

The cast includes Irene Azuela, Azul Guaita, Ana Valeria Becerril, Andrea Chaparro, Andrés Baida, Ángeles Cruz, Mauricio García Lozano, Ari Brickman, and Louis David Horné. The series is directed by Julián de Tavira and Analorena Perezríos, with Jerry Rodríguez serving as showrunner.
