Oct 26, 2024
Billie Eilish will headline the first U.S. rendition of Overheated, a climate change activism event organized by her mother Maggie Baird’s organization, Support+Feed.
Eilish, an Overheated co-founder, will speak alongside “activists, artists, organizations and thought leaders,” per the organization’s announcement, to “amplify their efforts, and inspire others with practical tips and accessible resources for addressing the climate crisis.”
The event is scheduled for Nov. 3 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and is currently sold out. It will also be livestreamed globally via Eilish’s official YouTube channel.
“There will be conversations on the importance of storytelling, impact of food systems, methods of sustainable fashion, environmental justice, accessible resources for addressing the climate crisis and more,” the event description continues. “We will share a plant-based lunch and there will even be a dance party afterwards!”
Special guests also include Baird, Saad Amer, Corinea Austin, Xiye Bastida, Daniel Blackman, Brea Baker, Abre’ Conner, Quintin Crumpler, Jasmine Crowe-Houston, Helena Gualinga, Wawa Gatheru, Isaias Hernandez, Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, Jamila Norman, Samata Pattinson, Maya Penn and Angela Watts.
Overheated hosted an event in the U.K. last year. Baird’s organization, Support+Feed, has reached 41 cities globally, per its website, which also notes its work is “committed to mitigating climate change and increasing food security by driving global demand, acceptance, and accessibility of plant-based food.”
