New Marvel Teaser Reveals First Footage & December 2025 Release Date

Oct 30, 2024

There have been quite a few rumors about Marvel Studios’ upcoming TV series, “Wonder Man.” That’s because Marvel took forever to confirm it was actually happening, which led many “scoopers” to say the series was being scrapped. Well, not only is it not scrapped, but it actually is arriving next year.

In a new sizzle reel showcasing its 2025 offerings on Disney+, Marvel Studios gave folks their first look at the new TV series, “Wonder Man.” No, it doesn’t show any big action set pieces. Instead, it showcases the meta nature of the series. The footage shows Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) showing up to an acting audition where he is trying to land the role of Wonder Man.
The meta nature of the show lines up with the comic book origins of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. In the comics, he is shown to be an actor and an occasional stunt man. So, it makes sense Marvel would use that for the series. In the comics, however, he also has a deeper origin where he is the son of a billionaire weapons maker, and he becomes a villain to take on Iron Man. It would appear the studio is avoiding that part of the origin. READ MORE: Josh Brolin Talks Returning To Marvel As Thanos: “I Would Do Anything The Russos Wanted Me To Do”
In addition to seeing Abdul-Mateen II in the footage, we’re also shown clips of his co-star, Ben Kingsley, as Trevor Slattery. Trevor is a character that first showed up in “Iron Man 3” as the villain Mandarin. However, it was revealed that he is only an actor given the role of Mandarin. In actuality, he was a bit of a bumbly man. He would then show up again in ‘Shang-Chi.’
We’re still pretty far away from “Wonder Man” actually showing up on TV screens. The series isn’t expected to hit Disney+ until December 2025. You can watch the sizzle reel below:
