Alexandra Daddario’s Supernatural Anne Rice Series Returns January 2025

Nov 1, 2024

While you might expect “The Walking Dead” or “Interview With the Vampire” to be the most-watched show on AMC+, the streamer announced last year that “Mayfair Witches,” starring Alexandra Daddario, is the most-viewed season of any series ever on AMC+. And with that, they quickly announced season two, which is right around the corner.
Last month at New York Comic Con, AMC Networks announced that the anticipated second season of “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches” will premiere on January 5, 2025, on AMC and AMC+. This week, the first official trailer was released.

The panel at NYCC, which also included an early screening of the season two premiere, featured executive producer Mark Johnson, showrunner Esta Spalding, and cast members Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels.
Based on Anne Rice’s “Lives of the Mayfair Witches,” season two of Mayfair Witches continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston). She is determined to understand what he has become—human or monster?—and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she must put aside her own desires and fight to protect her family. The series is executive produced by Mark Johnson, showrunner Esta Spalding, Tom Williams, Michelle Ashford, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice, and is produced by AMC Studios.
Daddario gave birth to a baby just yesterday, and in a review interview with EW, she admitted she was the one who conceived the baby with the rest of the cast.
“One time I threw up right outside my trailer, and my best friend had to hose it down,” Daddario said about some of her lame attempts to hide the pregnancy, which didn’t really fool anyone. “I was like, ‘Can someone get me a sandwich please? And no cold cuts, please?’ Ben was like, ‘Are you pregnant? And I’m like, ‘That’s none of your business, and by the way, get me some watermelon.’”
Daddario joked she was the “vomit monster,” joking that it must have been hell for her co-star, season two newcomer Ben Feldman, to kiss her. “I was like, ‘I just threw up, let’s go for it.’”
“Mayfair Witches” returns to AMC and AMC+ on January 5. Watch the new trailer below.
