Katee Sackhoff Wants To Join The STAR TREK Franchise and Jonathan Frakes Has an Idea For her — GeekTyrant

Nov 2, 2024

Katee Sackhoff has had a pretty great career in the genre film a TV space with projects like Battlestar Galactica and The Mandalorian. Well, no she wants in on the Star Trek franchise.Sackhoff recently talked with Star Trek veteran Jonathan Frakes, who played William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, on her podcast The Sackhoff Show.During their conversation, Sackhoff asked Frakes what she has to do to “be in Star Trek,” because she needs a “hat trick.” Sackhoff went on to say that she believes the reason she’s never had the opportunity to jump into the Trek universe is because those in charge of casting might think that casting her would be “too on the nose” to hire her given her past sci-fi roles.Frakes responded with an idea for her saying: “What about the new one? What about Starfleet Academy? Paul Giamatti’s in it. It takes place 900 years into the future. They could probably use a guest instructor, not unlike Starbuck. I’ll pitch you.”It would be pretty cool if they were able to work something out and bring Sackhoff into the world of Star Trek. A franchise that she could easily fit into. Personally, I think it would be awesome of she ended up playing the Captain of her own ship! If Sackhoff joined Star Trek, what kind of character would you like to see her play?
