Game Of Thrones & Barry Stars Join Bob Odenkirk’s Newest Original Action Movie
Nov 5, 2024
Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey and Barry’s Henry Winkler have joined the cast of Bob Odenkirk’s upcoming action movie Normal. Odenkirk was previously confirmed to be reuniting with Nobody screenwriter Derek Kolstad for the project, which will be directed by Meg 2: The Trench’s Ben Wheatley. The story features Odenkirk playing a stand-in sheriff named Ulysses in the Minnesota town of Normal, where Ulysses uncovers a shocking discovery following a local bank robbery. Filming has already wrapped on Odenkirk’s other upcoming action movie, the eagerly anticipated Nobody 2.
As per Variety, Headey will be playing the local bartender while Winkler plays the mayor of Normal. The movie’s production in Winnipeg, Canada began in October and is scheduled to continue through December, with the project being produced by the same team who worked on Nobody and Nobody 2. Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod have also joined the cast in supporting roles.
What This Means For Normal
It Is Continuing The Best Bob Odenkirk Trend
With Nobody 2’s filming already completed and production already underway on Normal, the new action movie will be Odenkirk’s primary focus in the coming months. Between Better Call Saul, Nobody, and the prematurely canceled AMC series Lucky Hank, Odenkirk has continually excelled at playing everyman-type characters. Normal is poised to continue this trend with Ulysses, who sounds like another everyman who gets in over his head when he discovers that the bank robbery was only the tip of the iceberg in the seemingly idyllic town.

Odenkirk’s newly confirmed co-stars, Headey and Winkler, will further elevate the movie’s drama and humor, both of which may have a similar feel to Nobody, given the involvement of the same creative teams. Headey delivered one of the best performances from the Game of Thrones cast, while Barry was a more dramatic turn for the often comedic Winkler. It will be intriguing to see which direction Headey and Winkler’s characters lean in as they play important figures in the town of Normal.
Our Take On Normal’s New Casting Choices
Bob Odenkirk Continues To Have The Best Co-Stars
From the casts of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul to Little Women and Nobody, Odenkirk has worked with an impressive array of actors throughout his career, including Bryan Cranston, Rhea Seehorn, Meryl Streep, and Christopher Lloyd. It is only fitting to see Odenkirk continuing to expand his impressive career alongside Headey and Winkler. Both Odenkirk and Winkler are comedic legends, and their characters’ interactions are likely to provide some excellent comedy. Normal has the chance to be the perfect blend of action, comedy, and drama led by an unparalleled trio of actors.
