The MCU may be about to add another major star (and Academy Award nominee) to the roster, as Rustin star Colman Domingo has revealed that he has “had a meeting” with Marvel Studios about a possible role in the blockbuster franchise. Speaking with Screen Geek, Domingo, who has received critical acclaim and awards recognition for his performances in the likes of Sing Sing and The Color Purple, played things coy when discussing the meeting, but it’s worth noting that the actor has long been a fan-favorite for several MCU characters – including a possible Kang recasting.

“I have had a meeting with Marvel, yes. But it wasn’t specifically about anything. They literally sat down and said, “What do you want to do?” And I said, “I don’t know. What do you got for me?” So we’re having engagement, of course. Who would not want to be a part of the MCU? I just wouldn’t want it to be right. And something that is created for me and something where I feel like I can give something of myself to. So we’ll find out what that is. I don’t know what it is yet, but I’m patient.”

It’s also worth noting that Domingo is already set to join the world of Marvel in animated form. The actor will voice Norman Osborn in the upcoming Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. However, his description of this mysterious meeting suggests that another role in the MCU could be in the works. After all, he would hardly be the first actor to play multiple roles in the shared universe.

Who Could Colman Domingo Play in the MCU?

So, what role would be best suited for Colman Domingo’s Oscar-nominated talents? Could Domingo play the live-action Norman Osborn alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker when the fourth Spider-Man outing lands in theaters in 2026? Colman Domingo has seen his star rise rapidly following his Academy Award-nominated performance in the biographical drama Rustin last year.
