Jan 13, 2025

When the first season of “Ahsoka” premiered in 2023, it was a little bittersweet. Sure, everyone was excited to see Rosario Dawson reprise her role as Ahsoka in a new story. However, there was also the news that actor Ray Stevenson passed away only weeks before the premiere. Alas, the series was a hit for Disney+ and Lucasfilm, leading to a Season 2 renewal. But what about Stevenson’s role? Who is going to take over for Season 2? Well, now we know.

According to THR, actor Rory McCann has landed the role of Baylan Skoll in Season 2 of the “Star Wars” series, “Ahsoka.” McCann takes over the role from Stevenson, who passed away from a brief illness in May 2023.
McCann is probably best known for his role as The Hound in “Game of Thrones.” More recently, he’s shown up in films such as “XXX: Return of Xander Cage,” “Jumanji: The Next Level,” and “Gladiator II.” On the TV side of things, after ‘Thrones,’ he’s appeared in series such as “The Legend of Vox Machina,” “Transformers: EarthSpark,” and “Knuckles.”

“Ahsoka” is a “Star Wars” spinoff series that follows the adventures of Ahsoka Tano, played by the aforementioned Dawson. In the series, she crosses paths with the villainous Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati, played by Ivanna Sakhno.
It’s unclear when we might see Season 2 of “Ahsoka” arrive on Disney+. The series has yet to shoot Season 2, and Dave Filoni—who was showrunner of Season 1—is an incredibly busy man.
