The Netflix limited series hails from Samantha Strauss, who previously wrote an episode of “Nine Perfect Strangers” and co-created “Dance Academy.” She reflected on the media’s perceptions of food and growing costs associated with the wellness industry during a recent interview. “It’s interesting to look at how media uses food as a weapon against us and how much we crave the nourishment, but how much of a privilege and how expensive it is to try to be well,” Strauss told Netflix Queue.
Kaitlyn Dever and Alycia Debnam-Carey star as the rising wellness influencers. Dever drew praise for her performances in “Dopesick” and “Booksmart.” Aisha Dee, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Ashley Zukerman, Mark Coles Smith, Susie Porter, Matt Nable, Phoenix Raei, Chai Hansen, Richard Davies, Kieran Darcy-Smith, Catherine McClements, and Essie Davis round out the cast.

The series’ official synopsis:
“Set at the birth of Instagram, Apple Cider Vinegar follows two young women who set out to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, influencing their global online communities along the way. All of which would be incredibly inspiring if it were all true.
This is a true-ish story based on a lie, about the rise and fall of a wellness empire; the culture that built it up and the people who tore it down.”
The Netflix limited series “Apple Cider Vinegar” is set to arrive on February 6. Watch the new trailer below:
