Vincent D’Onofrio Says Show’s Story Is “Bigger & Crazier” Than Fans Think

Jan 15, 2025

Earlier this morning, we saw the release (finally) of the trailer for “Daredevil: Born Again,” which is arriving in March. And a large portion of that trailer highlights an interaction that happens between Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk. And while you can feel the tensions rise during the conversation between characters, we don’t get to see its resolution, which apparently is something we could never predict.

Speaking in a new interview with EW, both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio talk about the collision course that is set up in the new season of “Daredevil: Born Again” between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. According to the two actors, the interactions between these two characters are really the meat of the series.
“I believe you have to be really careful when and how you bring these two people into the same room because we have to feel like when they meet, it is an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object,” Cox said. “It has to feel like it could and will explode. The more you bring us together with no consequence, the less that illusion can maintain itself.”
He continued, “There’s actually an episode later on in the season where in an original draft we had a conversation, and I brought this up. I said, ‘I worry that if you tell the story that we can have a conversation and walk away from it at this stage, we lose a lot of stakes.’ So they found a really cool way to not have us do that.”
As for D’Onofrio, he believes that whatever fans think is going to happen in ‘Born Again,’ they can never guess because it’s always going to be “bigger and crazier” than they imagine.

“Anything on our show is, nine out of 10 times, leading to something that’s even bigger and crazier,” said D’Onofrio.
We are still a little under two months away from the release of “Daredevil: Born Again,” but it’s safe to say that fans are extremely excited, especially after the release of the first trailer. ‘Born Again’ debuts on Disney+ on March 4.
