Woman of Tomorrow’ Script on Instagram
Jan 17, 2025
Jason Momoa creatively unveiled his copy of the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow screenplay in true Lobo fashion, as the actor smoked a cigar over a crackling fire on social media. And as the new year forges forward, the former DCEU’s Aquaman has his sights set squarely on the future, which will include him teaming up with Milly Alcock, as the Main Man, in the highly anticipated Supergirl film in 2026. Momoa wrote (via Instagram) while enjoying a stogie and thumbing the script’s front page in the new video:
BOOM Day 3 of 2025 I AM LOBO #letsfraggingo aloha j
After portraying Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the now defunct DCEU, Momoa taking up the mantle of Lobo, aka Czarnian, on the big screen shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to the fandom. As the former Snyderverse continued to unravel, Momoa took to social media back in January 2023, ecstatic about a mysterious meeting with the DC Studios’ heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Momoa revealed in the footage that he would continue under the new regime for four more years. However, the actor would neither confirm nor deny whether he’d still be playing Aquaman, but now the fans have their answer. Momoa went on to praise both Gunn and Safran in the same video, which was posted to his Instagram story. The actor said (per Looper) below:
I got some really good news — great news with Warner Bros. Amazing! Wish I could tell you, but here it is. Peter [Safran], I love you. James [Gunn], I love you. To the future.
Could Jason Momoa Double Dip His Toes in a DCU Multiverse?
A few days after officially announcing he’d be joining Peter Safran and James Gunn’s DC Universe back in 2023, Momoa addressed whether he’d still be playing Aquaman, or another character on the big screen moving forward. Much like that cryptic Instagram post, Momoa wasn’t all that forthcoming.
Momoa teased that he would “always be” the King of Atlantis. However, did he just mean that the fans would always remember his contributions to cinema as a Justice League member, or was he possibly teasing a chance he might play both Arthur Curry and the “fraggin” Lobo in a DC multiverse situation? Here’s exactly what the actor said in an interview with Variety (below):
“I’m in the house of Warner Bros., and they’re liking a lot of stuff I’m doing. We’ve got a lot of good things coming […] I’ll always be Aquaman. The rumors are: I’ll always be Aquaman. Ain’t anyone coming in there and taking sh*t. And then, there might be some other characters too. So, I can play other things, too. I can be funny and savage and charming, once in a while.”

It was recently announced that Jason Momoa would appear in the DC Universe, but he won’t be returning as Aquaman.
Regardless of how Aquaman’s future shakes out in the DCU, Jason Momoa has landed his dream job as Lobo. However, it might be prudent for the powers-that-be over at DC Studios to consider a multiverse where Momoa could also wield the King of Atlantis’ trademark trident once more.
Dating all the way back to the first time Christopher Reeve donned Superman’s costume in 1978, only four DC films have eclipsed the billion-dollar mark at the box office. And James Wan’s Momoa-led Aquaman (2018) is one of those titles which also includes The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Joker.
