I’ve Been In All Of Them
Feb 9, 2025
With the most recent installment finding the franchise vet with her smallest role yet, Natasha Rothwell is weighing in on her Sonic the Hedgehog 4 return. The third movie in Paramount’s adaptation of their adaptation of Sega’s beloved franchise put Ben Schwartz’s blue hedgehog against the powerful force of Keanu Reeves’s beloved anti-hero in a fight to save the world. Rothwell’s return in Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s cast saw Maddie (Tika Sumpter) take on the holographic guise of her sister Rachel in order to infiltrate GUN’s London HQ.
During a recent interview with ScreenRant to discuss her upcoming return in The White Lotus season 3, Rothwell reflected on her experience with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and her chances of returning for the in-development Sonic the Hedgehog 4. The star stated that she was eager to return to the universe after having had a pleasant experience working with the cast and crew on the first three films in the series:
I hope so. I mean, Jeff Fowler, he’s just so lovely. And Toby Asher and the gang, Tika, James, like I’ve been in all of them and so absolutely I’ll come back.
Furthermore, Rothwell revealed that she had filmed her scenes in a single shoot in London before joining The White Lotus season 3’s production in Thailand, describing it as “such a whirlwind of a trip” jumping between the two projects before concluding with her hopes of returning for the next Sonic movie. Check out Rothwell’s recollection below:
What’s so crazy about the third one, I flew to London to shoot my scenes for the third one and then went to Thailand. So I literally stopped and shot it and then kept going. So it’s cool to look back because I’m just like, I barely remember being there because it was such a whirlwind of a trip. But yeah, hopefully I’ll be back.
What Could Rachel’s Potential Return Mean For Sonic the Hedgehog 4
She May Have Some Unique Advice For The Heroes’ Newest Challenge
Rachel may be one of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise’s most suffering supporting characters, finding herself tied up when Tom (James Marsden) and Sonic arrived at her door in the first movie, while the second saw her wedding to Randall (Shemar Moore) be used as a trap by G.U.N. to capture the titular protagonist. As such, some viewers may be relieved to see Rachel enjoy some rest away from the action. However, one confirmed Sonic the Hedgehog 4 element could give her a key role.

Rachel Is A Memorable Addition To The World
