New Batman Statue From McFarlane Toys Takes Back the Night
Feb 10, 2025
As comic fans wait for the release of James Gunn’s Superman this summer, the first big screen outing for the new DCU, the merchandise is booming for this iconic superhero brand. Companies like Funko, Mondo, Mezco Toyz, and McFarlane Toys have been releasing an endless amount of products based on DC’s most popular characters. Batman remains their most beloved hero. Now, after celebrating The Dark Knight’s 85th anniversary in grand fashion last year, McFarlane Toys has unveiled their latest Batman comic book statue.
A part of McFarlane’s DC Direct line, this new 1:10th scale resin statue is based on the artwork of famous comic book artist Björn Barends. The piece stands at 7.32 inches tall and features a gothic black and white color scheme. The figure is also battle damaged as it’s based on Barends cover for Dark Crisis #1. Another great detail of the figure is that Batman can be seen standing on Doomsday. This is something that was featured in its inspiration as well.
More Batman Is on the Way
While 2024 was a huge year for Batman with the releases of the hero’s new animated series Batman: Caped Crusader and HBO’s The Penguin, the future for DC’s top prize is only getting better and better. The Penguin helped set up Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II, which was recently delayed a year from October 2026 to October 2027. We don’t know what the highly-anticipated movie will be about or who the main villain will be, but the film will see Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight return to the big screen. This detective-noir universe is separate from Gunn’s DCU. However, Batman will play a major role in that exciting shared universe.
After his shadowy cameo in Creature Commandos Season 1 in December, this version of the crime fighter will be making his big screen debut in The Brave and the Bold. The film doesn’t have a release date or a main actor yet. That being said, it’ll be heavily inspired by Grant Morrison’s “Son of Batman” storyline as it will see a seasoned Batman train a young Damien Wayne to be the next Robin. The Flash’s Andy Muschietti is also attached to direct the project. Other future Gotham City-based projects include the animated film Dynamic Duo centered around Dick Grayson and Jason Todd in 2028, as well as Clayface in 2026. The latter of which is written by modern horror legend Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep).
Most of DC’s back catalog of projects, including The Batman and Batman Begins, are streaming Max. Before your next dangerous mission in Gotham, you can pre-order McFarlane Toys’ new Batman comic statue on their website. The figure is set to be released in June for $169.99 USD.
