Taylor Ann Green on Her ‘Southern Charm’ Season 8 Experience

Feb 18, 2025

Throughout the time that Southern Charm has been on the air, every season has shown someone from the cast being the center of attention. During the reality TV show’s Season 9, the attention was around Taylor Ann Green and Austen Kroll because it was revealed they had kissed. Season 9 was a difficult one for her since it was her first season without Shep Rose, and she was also going through a falling out with Olivia Flowers. Needless to say, Taylor was coming into Season 10 of Southern Charm with a different mindset and ready to make amends.
Speaking to Collider, Taylor explains how her main priority coming back into this season was to fix her relationship with the girls because of what had happened last season. Even though there was some hesitation about coming back, she knew she couldn’t leave the show without attempting to fix the friendships. Besides fixing relationships, Taylor also expressed how she felt about the rumors circling around Southern Hospitality’s Emmy Sharrett and Will Kulp.
Taylor Ann Green Wanted to Fix Her Relationships With Her ‘Southern Charm’ Co-Stars

When viewers met Taylor Ann Green back in Season 7 of Southern Charm, she was mostly known as the current girlfriend that Shep Rose had. Her relationship with Shep was sometimes hard to watch for viewers, as it could be seen that he had not been faithful to her and, ultimately, they decided to break up. After the break-up, Taylor had to reinvent and find herself, so she started to connect with the cast on a deeper level, especially with Olivia Flowers. Things took a turn for her and Olivia as it was revealed that Taylor had had an encounter with Austen Kroll, and they had to go through a friendship breakup which made her feel like the outsider of the group.
Season 9 of Southern Charm was very hard for Taylor, but coming into Season 10 she knew she was basically going to have to start over with her friendships in the group because of what she had done last season. Speaking to Collider, she explains how she mentally prepared herself for this season, “Coming in from last season, I really just wanted to try my best to fix my relationship with the women of the group specifically. Obviously, you won’t be able to see that with Olivia, but I think we’re on the up and up with the three other girls,” she said.
Even though she had decided to come back to show, she explained that it wasn’t an easy decision to make because of how she had left things with the group, but she didn’t want to walk away in a bad note. “Last year was really hard, not just with this group but in my personal life, so it was a really tough decision to make, but I really didn’t want to leave on such a bad note and I wanted to come back and fix what I broke,” she added.
Throughout this season, viewers have been able to see how Taylor has been reconnecting with the cast, and it has shown her in a different light. Her friendships have been blossoming again with the girls as they have been supportive of her, but she does still feel like she hasn’t been able to crack Madison LeCroy, “I’m not sure where I stand with Madison, but I’m not going to sit here and beg her to be my best friend.”
Taylor Shares Her Thoughts on the ‘Southern Hospitality’ Drama

Besides growing her friendships with the girls on Southern Charm, Taylor has had a very strong friendship with the cast of Southern Hospitality. She is very close to TJ Dinch and, as has been seen throughout this season, he has been involved in the drama of the relationship that Emmy Sharrett and Will Kulp have. She explains how she has a lot of love for the SOHO cast and has been able to understand both sides, saying: “I understand both sides of the story. I see where Emmy is coming from, that she feels hurt by her friends and feels attacked by them rather than them, like reaching out a hand. So her being on the defense kind of riles up the group.”
Taylor also understands that Emmy had been starting to act protective of Will because he has been putting so much time and effort into his career, so she can’t help but go in defense mode. Even though she may have been in defense mode, rumors have been swirling about Will cheating on Emmy throughout the whole season and that is one of the reasons why the cast has been trying to open her eyes to what is truly happening in her relationship. Taylor does explain though that things could have been handled differently, saying: “It could have been handled differently, but I do see both sides. Emmy is a great friend of mine, and she’s been a big supporter of my brand, so I see her often, and I’m always going to be cheering her on.”
