The acting legend also tells us why ‘Loki’ is his favorite Marvel series so far.

Echoing the Netflix show, the new series will bring fans right back into the story of Matt Murdock, years after he gave up his vigilante work on the streets of New York. Having teased Born Again through Cox’s secondary appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Echo, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Hawkeye and Echo appearances, now the pair will once again face each other in what promises to be a series that Marvel fans have eagerly been waiting for. So, what are those first reactions saying? Find out below.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’s First Reactions are Incredibly Positive

Disney+

Following the initial chaos surrounding Daredevil: Born Again’s production, it seems that the complete creative overhaul of the new series has massively paid off, as first reactions to the first two episodes have proclaimed, in no uncertain terms, that the series could be Marvel Studios’ best Disney+ MCU series ever. One of the first reactions from @N8playsgames reads:

“I’ve seen two episodes of #DaredevilBornAgain and I’m happy to say THE DEVIL IS BACK! This season hits the ground running and brings you right back to the Daredevil you love. It’s GRITTY, BLOODY, INTENSE AND ELEVATED! Cox and [D’Onofrio] are as perfect as you remember!”

@DDevilUpdates followed this up and made it two for two, saying:

“We watched the first two episodes of #DaredevilBornAgain and guys….. WE ARE IN FOR A TREAT! The show recaptures what made the original series so special but also takes it in a different direction. The tone and grit is authentic to the original show, and the writing never feels too dissimilar. The action feels sharper and better than the Netflix series.”

For @BigGoldBelt, it is the same story, with plenty of praise heading the way of Marvel Studios for their new offering, which seems to go a long way to prove that most of the time, Kevin Feige knows exactly what he is doing at the helm of the franchise.

We are SO back! Daredevil: Born Again doubles down on the grit, brutality, and raw, bone-crunching action that made us fall in love with the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. Every punch hits harder, every shadow runs deeper, this is Daredevil at his absolute best. You won’t just be satisfied, you’ll be blown away!

While the original plan for Daredevil: Born Again to run for 18 episodes, this first season will instead have nine, and Marvel Studios exec Brad Winderbaum has already revealed that Season 2 will also consist of nine episodes, and will debut sometime in 2026. With Season 3 already seemingly confirmed, fans are going to be getting a lot more Daredevil than seemed likely just a few years ago.
Marvel Studios are reportedly set to bring more characters from the Defenders Saga into the MCU in the coming years, with Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle AKA The Punisher now reportedly getting his own Disney+ special, and fans desperate to see the likes of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage returning to their roles. If this is what Marvel Studios has to offer when boundaries are pushed far beyond the usual realm of PG-13 movies, those still expecting the wheels to come off may have to wait a bit longer for the demise of the franchise.
If these early impressions hold true, Daredevil: Born Again could be the series that reignites fans’ love for “street-level” stories that don’t involve super-powered Avengers and alien invasions. We will see how the series is rated when reviews begin to hit Rotten Tomatoes ahead of the series debut on March 5.
