‘Andor, ‘The Last Of Us,’ ‘Hacks’ & More

Apr 3, 2025

April is a significant month for returning TV favorites, and some new, enticing shows are also popping up. But it’s the returning series that dominates the conversation. From action tentpole dramas such as the critically acclaimed “Star Wars” series “Andor,” to the post-apocalyptic “The Last of Us,” or the dystopian series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” there’s no shortage of big-name dramas on the docket.

But there’s also some smaller, more niche fare, such as the similarly critically acclaimed “comedy” “The Rehearsal” from the always unexpected Nathan Fielder. While other popular series reach their season finales, such as “The White Lotus” and “The Pitt,” the April lineup promises more weekly dramas and comedies to help fill in the blanks.
“The Bondsman”
Kevin Bacon delivers horror in the upcoming action series, “The Bondsman.” Created by Gainger David, the series follows a bounty hunter who returns from the dead with his job possessing a new, demonic element after Lucifer reads the wrong recipes. Jennifer Nettles, Beth Grant, Damon Herriman, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene Purdy are also stars.
Release Date: Season 1 premieres April 3 on Amazon Prime Video.

“Dying for Sex”’
Based on the podcast series of the same name by Nikki Boyer, “Dying for Sex” tells a true story about a woman diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Michelle Williams stars as Molly, who, after receiving her diagnosis, decides to end her marriage and embark on a journey of sexual self-discovery before her death. Jenny Slate, Rob Delaney, Sissy Spacek, and Jay Duplass also star.
Release Date: The series premieres April 4 on FX on Hulu.

“The Handmaid’s Tale”
Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, “The Handmaid’s Tale” returns for its sixth and final season. Elisabeth Moss returns to lead the cast as June, who is pulled back into the fight to take down Gilead, with others joining in the resistance. Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, and more return.
Release Date: Season 6 premieres April 8 on Hulu.
