An official synopsis for the next 10 episodes via Netflix:
Dinosaur gladiators, messianic cats, string-puppet rock stars, it can only be Love, Death & Robots. The fourth volume, presented by Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) and David Fincher (“Mindhunter,” “The Killer”), sees Jennifer Yuh Nelson (“Kung Fu Panda 2,” “Kill Team Kill”) return as supervising director for ten startling shorts showcasing the series’ signature, award-winning style of bleeding-edge animation, horror, sci-fi and humor. Buckle up.
Fincher famously directed an episode from “Volume 3” with “Bad Trevelling” which was once meant to be part of a high-profile revival of the Canadian anthology film “Heavy Metal” that he was developing with Miller before the film rights expired (Guillermo del Toro, Zack Snyder, Gore Verbinski, and James Cameron were among some of the filmmakers in the mix at one point to tackle “Heavy Metal” segments), and they pivoted to the streaming original instead.
Miller has been making quite the impact in the world of short-form animation as he’s also behind the acclaimed video game-centric anthology “Secret Level” at Prime Video, which allows the Blur Studio founder (where “Sonic” trilogy director Jeff Flower got his start) to return to his roots of creating fantastic cinematics set directly within the world of various popular video games.
