Home Interviews CREED III Los Angeles Premiere: A Star-Studded Night Celebrating Michael B. Jordan’s Directorial Debut

MovieWeb’s Nicki Sun chats with the stars of CREED III at the Los Angeles Black Carpet premiere.

On the evening of February 27th, the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles was lit up with excitement and energy as some of Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered to celebrate the premiere of CREED III. The third installment of the CREED franchise stars Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Jonathan Majors, among others, and promises to be another adrenaline-filled ride for fans of the series.

But this wasn’t just any movie premiere. It was also a night to celebrate a major milestone in Michael B. Jordan’s career: his directorial debut. The talented actor, who also produced the film, stepped behind the camera for the first time with CREED III, and his colleagues and fans couldn’t be more excited to see the results.

Michael B. Jordan’s Directorial Debut with CREED III

MovieWeb’s host Nicki Sun was on the black carpet to chat with the cast and crew about their experiences making the film, and to get the inside scoop on what fans can expect from this latest installment. The night was filled with laughter, excitement, and a palpable sense of pride from everyone involved in the project.

Jordan himself spoke to Sun about what it means to play a larger role in how Black men are portrayed in media, saying, “I hope to do my part, generationally. There’s been so many actors before me, and activists, and entrepreneurs that have paved the way to give me room to be able to dream and achieve my dreams, so to be able to continue that and take that torch and continue to move it forward, it feels good. It feels awesome.”

Jonathan Majors Is Ready to Play Romantic Lead Next

Of course, Jordan wasn’t the only star of the night. Jonathan Majors, who plays Adonis Creed’s opponent in the film (and just at his other premiere weeks before as super-villain Kang the Conquerer in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), was also in attendance and spoke about his immense pride he has for Jordan. “Looking at Mike, and all his glory, you know, just being happy, that makes me feel really good.” As to when he will play a romantic lead, Majors said, “Let somebody write it. Cast me—I’ll do it, yeah, yeah, yeah.”

As fans eagerly await the film’s release, they can rest assured that they’re in for a thrilling ride that lives up the legacy of the series.

CREED III is in theaters nationwide on March 3rd.
