Jan 13, 2026
Action star Jason Statham is back and deadlier than ever – but this time, he’s fighting to protect an orphaned girl while also battling enemies from his past. Statham returns to the big screen this month in his new action thriller, Shelter, and Collider wants to give readers and fans the chance to see it early. Get ready, New York, because Collider is partnering with Black Bear Pictures, and we want you to join us for an advanced screening of Ric Roman Waugh’s (Greenland, Angel Has Fallen) newest heart-pounding feature in a theater where this kind of movie needs to be seen. After the credits roll, Waugh will also be joining us on stage for an exclusive Q&A to discuss the making of the movie. Read on for the full details on how you can enter for your chance to win free tickets. It’s time to return to the Stathamverse. In Shelter, from action filmmaker Waugh, Statham is Michael Mason, an elite, trained assassin, who has, for mysterious reasons, self-exiled himself on a remote coastal island, where every week a young girl drops off carts of supplies by rowboat. The day she finally decides to confront the man, demanding to understand his reclusive lifestyle, a deadly storm rolls in. Despite Mason’s staunch rule not to interact with the girl, he saves her from the storm, setting off a chain of events that force him from his seclusion, putting the both of them in peril. Now, with their lives intertwined and enemies from his past closing in on them, Mason must protect the orphaned girl while also battling these adversaries, setting this odd pair off on a journey for survival and redemption. Shelter also stars Bill Nighy (Love Actually), Naomi Ackie (Mickey 17), and Bodhi Rae Breathnach (Hamnet).
