When it comes to being “meta” and breaking the fourth wall, many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans believe that She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the soon-to-arrive Deadpool 3 have the monopoly on the comic book quirk. However, in a genius stroke of marketing and tie-in product creation, Ant-Man is stepping up to cross the boundaries of reality in more than just his upcoming MCU movie. The latest teaser for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania sees actor Paul Rudd promoting the book, ‘Look Out For The Little Guy!’ by a certain Scott Lang, and as the actor points out, it is one that isn’t just for show.

Obviously, the events of Avengers: Endgame were only possible thanks to Scott Lang getting himself trapped in the Quantum Realm during The Blip and returning – although we won’t mention the real hero of the story, which is the rat that released him from his interdimensional prison – with the idea of using time travel to defeat Thanos. So naturally, that is the kind of story someone would want to tell, and Lang does just that in the MCU. However, the story is one that has broken through the fourth wall and becomes a real-life book that will be released in September. In the teaser, Rudd says:

“You can now purchase my… [Lang’s] very real book: Look Out for the Little Guy!. That’s right. This once movie prop is now an actual real-life book you can purchase wherever books are sold. How’s that for meta? In this new book I’m almost certain was not written by me, we pull back the curtain and uncover the man behind Ant-Man, Scott Lang. Who is he? What is he like? Why does he look so much like me? It’s a tale as old as time that’s so good it practically reads itself. A publication similar to but not the New York Times calls it one of the best Avengers autobiographies of this multiverse. So if you’re like me and you’ve only ever read the back of covers of books to say you’ve read them, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Look Out for the Little Guy! It’ll change your life.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Hits Cinemas in Two Weeks

Phase 5 arrives on Feb. 17 when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters and delves deep into the Quantum Realm and the multiverse. Having spent much of his solo movies as a “breather” chapter of the larger MCU story, this time around, Scott Lang’s life hangs in the balance, as does the entire future of the Marvel multiverse when Kang the Conqueror makes his first big impression on the Multiverse Saga.

As the first step towards the much-hyped Avengers: Secret Wars finale of the Multiverse Saga, the third Ant-Man movie promises to be the biggest of Paul Rudd’s solo projects within the MCU, both in terms of scope and in box office results. Quantumania is currently tracking to open with up to $135 million, and provided it lives up to the expectations set by the trailers and marketing; then there is no reason to see why the film couldn’t become the highest-grossing Marvel movie since Spider-Man: No Way Home back in 2021.

Prepare for dark times when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits cinemas on Feb. 17.
