A Working Man Now Available On VOD Following Jason Statham Movie’s $79M Box Office Haul
Apr 16, 2025
A Working Man
is now available on VOD after a $79 million run in theaters. Directed by David Ayer and marking a reunion for him and Statham after The Beekeeper (2024), the action flick sees Statham starring as Levon Cade, a construction worker who is forced to embrace his violent past to rescue a kidnapped local girl. In addition to Statham, the A Working Man cast also features David Harbour, Michael Peña, Jason Flemyng, and Arianna Rivas, with the film having released in theaters at the end of March.
As of April 15, 2025, A Working Man is available to rent and purchase on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home. The movie is priced at $24.99 to buy and $19.99 to rent for 48 hours. Unfortunately, it appears that the film may only be available on VOD in the U.S. for the time being.
What This Means For A Working Man
How The Film’s Theatrical Performance Compares To The Beekeeper
The Beekeeper was a surprise success early last year, hitting theaters on January 12 and earning positive reviews from both critics and audiences, in addition to becoming a box office hit at $162 million worldwide. It achieved this success despite hitting VOD platforms less than a month later on January 30, 2024. A Working Man, then, has had about the same exclusive theatrical window, but it hasn’t quite managed to match The Beekeeper’s success, only grossing about $79 million worldwide. Both films are believed to be budgeted around $40 million.

Jason Statham might be best known as an action star, but his most iconic movies show how much more he has to offer with every rewatch.
At a $40 million budget, A Working Man could be looking at a break-even point of $80 million or higher, meaning it may not become profitable in theaters. There’s reason to believe, however, that it could be a hit on VOD. Though A Working Man reviews were mixed from critics, the film has fared far better with general audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, for example, the critics’ score is only 50%, but the Popcornmeter score is an impressive 87%. This audience response could be a sign of strong performance to come on home viewing platforms.
Our Take On A Working Man’s VOD Release
Jason Statham Remains An Audience Draw
For over two decades now, Statham has been a reliable leading man in action thriller movies. Though it would be fair to criticize many of these films and Statham’s characters in them for all feeling very similar, Statham does excel as a no-nonsense, man-of-few-words action hero. Even if critics may not always love the films, the audience responses can be far more positive. A Working Man fits this mold and doesn’t really break any new ground for the actor, but there are worse ways to spend a Friday night.
Though A Working Man didn’t repeat The Beekeeper’s success, it does suggest that Statham and Ayer are an interesting pairing. As of writing, the two don’t seem to have any collaborations on the horizon, with directing duties on the announced The Beekeeper 2 instead falling to Timo Tjahjanto. Hopefully, however, A Working Man doesn’t mark the last time Statham and Ayer team up for an exciting action movie.
