Born Again’ Stars Explain Why Bullseye Is So Dangerous in Season 2 [Exclusive]

Mar 19, 2026

Along with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Ofnorio’s Wilson Fisk, Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 brought back one of The Man Without Fear’s most notorious villains: Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin Poindexter, better known as Bullseye. Not only was he back in Season 1’s opening moments, but he was also responsible for one of the show’s most shocking moments, as Bullseye killed off Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson. This reign of terror would only continue in later episodes after Bullseye was released from prison, almost taking out Matt Murdock after he took a bullet to save Wilson Fisk’s life. But, even after all that, Cox and D’Ofnorio have revealed exclusively to MovieWeb that Bullseye is even more dangerous in Season 2. While Bullseye’s specific storyline in Born Again Season 2 is still largely a mystery, teaser trailers have shown new footage of him plotting a comeback and revenge against both Murdock and Fisk. Considering the look fans have seen on his face in that footage, it seems abundantly clear that he means he will show no mercy on anyone who gets in his path.

Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb, Daredevil: Born Again stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio teased some of what to expect from Wilson Bethel’s return as Bullseye. For D’Onofrio, Kingpin is “unaware” of everything going on with Bullseye, although he is not even sure Bullseye “knows who he’s in cahoots with” as he comes back into the spotlight:
“From my character’s point of view, it’s confusing. He’s unaware of them, of his plan with Bullseye, sure. So, it’s the fact that we know that my team, my side of the show, knows that Bullseye’s out there doing stuff; we don’t really understand who he’s in cahoots with, and I’m not even sure he understands who he’s in cahoots with, but towards the end he does know exactly what’s going on.”
Cox added that Bullseye is a particularly “strong element of the season,” reflecting on some of their scenes together that took some time to get right. The Daredevil star learned to think of Poindexter as not being “a rational human being,” instead looking at him “like he’s a delusional, crazy, tantruming child.” He explained:
“Yeah, you’re right to pick him out there as a really strong element of the season. I remember, there was one scene I had with him in particular where, on the day, the lines on the page weren’t quite working, and for my lines, I couldn’t quite figure out why. And I was talking to Dario about it, and it suddenly dawned on me, it’s like, it’s because I’m thinking of this person as a rational human being, and he’s not, and I have to talk to him like he’s a six-year-old, like he’s a delusional, crazy, tantruming child. And then the lines began to make sense when the delivery was adjusted because, as you said, you think he’s completely delusional.”

Bringing back Bethel to play Bullseye again was part of a massive overhaul for Daredevil: Born Again, which originally was not going to be canon to everything that happened in Netflix’s Defenders Saga. Now that he is back in the fold, Poindexter will surely continue to shine in the MCU, as he causes new kinds of mayhem for Matt Murdock and his team of vigilantes.

This time, Bullseye will have even more firepower to go up against, as he will not only have to face Matt Murdock but also Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. There may be other surprises in store for this longtime MCU villain as well, meaning the stage could be set for one of the more intense and epic seasons of street-level stories the MCU has delivered yet. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is due to premiere on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
