Amazon’s Raunchy R-Rated Hit Falls to New 9/10 Binge-Worthy Favorite on Streaming
Aug 12, 2026
Since its arrival on Prime Video back in May, Off Campus has more than proven itself a force to be reckoned with on streaming. It’s consistently been in the #1 spot on the list of Top 10 TV Shows, meaning the raunchy adaptation of the novel by Elle Kennedy has clearly made an impact on a lot of viewers. Now, three months after its debut, Off Campus has finally been dethroned by a binge-worthy newcomer.
Prime Video Scores Big With an Existential Coming-of-Age Drama
Released on Aug. 5, Sterling Point is Prime Video’s newest smash hit that stars Ella Rubin as 17-year-old Annie Jacobson, who – after her estranged grandfather dies – travels to the titular remote island left to her in his will. Having been raised in New York City by her adoptive father, Annie finds herself in unfamiliar territory, but is determined to uncover why her grandfather distanced himself from her for so long. As she begins to unravel long-buried family secrets, she’ll have to deal with the complicated emotions that come with discovering who she really is. Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Amélie Hoeferle, Bo Bragason, Jay Duplass, and Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Sterling Point has been getting rave reviews since it’s streaming arrival, as it’s now Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 93% rating. Created by Megan Park (The Fallout, My Old Ass), the new existential coming-of-age drama takes everything we love about shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty and mixes it all together to create an original story that’s a breath of fresh air in today’s streaming landscape. Perhaps the best part of all about Sterling Point is the fact that Park has a knack for developing three-dimensional characters that are given room to breathe so that the plot doesn’t become the main focus of the story. The people in the series feel real thanks to their emotional baggage and trauma, meaning there’s much more than just romance going on in the hit show. Though it might still be pure escapism, Sterling Point definitely has more meat on the bones than a lot of YA drams that have come out in the past few years, which makes the eight-episode smash a must-see for fans of the dramatic.

To further prove just how much of an impact Sterling Point has made on viewers, the series has now become the most popular show on Prime Video, as it’s finally dethroned Off Campus – something few have managed to do in the last three months. To break things down ever more, per Flix Patrol, Sterling Point isn’t just the #1 series in the United States, but the #1 series around the globe. Needless to say, folks can’t seem to get enough of the coming-of-age hit, and rightfully so.
That being said, there’s been no word on whether Sterling Point will be renewed for another season, but should the series continue, Park has stated that she already has ideas of where she’d like to take it. Speaking to EW, she mentioned that she would “love to spend more time with the parents,” adding: “There’s a lot of mommy and daddy issues being threaded throughout the show, so there’s a lot there.”
