Mar 21, 2025
Fans of “Severance” are currently in the middle of a deep dive attempting to figure out what happens next after the revelations in the season two finale which dropped this week. The good news is they won’t have to wait as long for season three. Today, Apple CEO Tim Cook and creative force Ben Stiller revealed on social media that the streamer’s “most-watched series” will return.

On a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, Stiller promised viewers would not have to wait three years in between seasons noting the 2023 guild strikes were part of the delay the first time around.
In a statement on the renewall, executive producer and director Stiller remarked, “Making ‘Severance’ has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. While I have no memory of this, I’m told making season three will be equally enjoyable, though any recollection of these future events will be forever and irrevocably wiped from my memory as well.”
Executive producer, star, and likely Emmy nominee Adam Scott also chimed in noting, “I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast and crew, Apple and the whole ‘Severance’ team. Oh hey also – not a huge deal – but if you see my innie, please don’t mention any of this to him. Thanks.”
Creator, writer, and executive producer Dan Erickson added, “The idea of getting to make more ‘Severance’ with the greatest cast and crew on Earth is more thrilling to me than all the world’s finger traps combined. I can’t wait to continue spreading woe, frolic, dread, and malice with these truly incredible people.”
Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, noted, “What Ben, Dan, Adam, and the talented cast and crew behind ‘Severance’ have brought to the screen is undeniable magic in a bottle that has captivated audiences around the world. This undeniably brilliant series has brought back appointment viewing in a big way, and after this week’s finale, everyone has to know what happens next.”
Also starring Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette, “Severance” has been a major hit for Apple TV+ in its second season. The streamer will only hail it as its most-watched show, but since its January premiere, the program has appeared multiple times in Nielsen’s top 10 overall streaming rankings. With nervousness in Hollywood that Apple TV+ is losing $1 billion a year, these sorts of hits should dampen any concern the corporation will end the service anytime soon.
“Severance” is currently available on Apple TV+
