Jan 10, 2024

Ayo Edebiri, best known for her roles in The Bear and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles plays an undisclosed part in Marvel’s upcoming Thunderbolts movie. Her role in the film has reportedly been revealed. Edebiri has briefly talked about joining the film during an interview with Backstage Magazine. When asked about it, she didn’t reveal any details, but she did say: “I love being a sponge. I just want to learn as much as possible. I’m excited [for ‘Thunderbolts’] because I don’t know; and to me, that’s cool. I feel like those are always the situations that I’ve benefited from the most. If I don’t know what I’m going to learn, that’s the best possible scenario for me.”Now movie scooper Can We Get Some Toast is reporting that Edebiri is playing a character named Erin, who is Valentina Allegra de Fontaine’s (Julie Louis-Dreyfus) assistant. The character is described as being “exceptional at her job, even surprising Val with how good she is at getting things done.”Chances are this character was created specifically for this film. The rest of the ensemble cast for the film includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes who will be leading the team, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, and of course, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova. Then there’s Harrison Ford, who is taking on the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross who is going to be President of the United States in Captain America: New World Order. Steven Yuen is also said to be playing The Sentry. The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding), from a script by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek. Thunderbolts is currently set to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.
