‘Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League’ Now on Digital, Lengthy Preview Released

Mar 24, 2025

Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League is now available to purchase on digital platforms, but DC fans will be able to preview the highly-anticipated anime sequel without having to shell out any cash. The follow-up to 2018’s Batman Ninja features the titular Dark Knight and his closest allies battling an alternate, Yakuza-themed Justice League to save Gotham City. And yes, it is as awesome as it sounds, at least according to the new action-packed footage.
As of Mar. 18, Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League is on digital platforms like Prime Video for purchase, while a streaming option remains unavailable. It’s been several years since Batman Ninja broke canon forever and delivered a truly fresh take on the classic comic book character, but it feels like it never left. In the nearly 20-minute preview, Warner Bros. allows fans to experience both the English voice acting and the Japanese dub so that you can eventually choose your favorite upon purchase. Check out the free preview below.

The new Batman is… an MCU veteran?

Batman and Robin confront a host of different DC characters with a Yakuza-twist, including Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and the Flash. They can be witnessed in all of their anime glory in the sneak preview, which also suggests that audiences will be introduced to another set of villains as well. You can’t have a Batman movie without Joker involved in it somehow, and it seems he and Harley Quinn play a role in the new animated sequel. The Bat Family that will accompany the Caped Crusader are the usual suspects: Dick Grayson as Nightwing, Jason Todd as Red Hood, Tim Drake as Red Robin, and Damian Wayne as Robin.
‘Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League’ Features an All-Star Voice Cast

While the English voice cast remains unconfirmed by the studio, the Japanese dub crew for Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League is more than entire most longtime anime and DC fans. Returning from the 2018 film are Koichi Yamadera as Batman, Daisuke Ono as Dick Grayson / Nightwing, Akira Ishida as Jason Todd / Red Hood, Kengo Kawanishi as Tim Drake / Red Robin, and Yuki Kaji as Damian Wayne / Robin. On the villain side of things, Wataru Takagi reprises his role as Joker, while Rie Kugimiya returns as the Clown Prince’s partner in crime, Harley Quinn. However, it’s the Yakuza League that is the main attraction this time around.
The cast of the alternate version of the Justice League featured in the Batman Ninja sequel is impressive, to say the least. Ayane Sakura (My Hero Academia) plays the female Green Lantern featured in the new preview, while Akio Otsuka (One Piece) can be heard as Aquaman (perfect casting if you ask us). The rest of the crew is made up of Nobuyuki Hiyam (Bleach) as speedster The Flash and Romi Park (Fullmetal Alchemist) as the voice of Wonder Woman. Meanwhile, Kazuhiro Yamaji (One-Punch Man) is voicing Ra’s al Ghul. Check out the synopsis for the film below:

“In this sequel to ‘Batman Ninja,’ the Batman family has returned to the present to discover that Japan has disappeared, and a giant island – Hinomoto – is now in the sky over Gotham City. At the top sit the Yakuza, a group of superpowered individuals who reign without honor or humanity and look suspiciously like the Justice League. Now, it’s up to Batman and his allies to save Gotham!”
