Home TV News Bella Ramsey Addresses What Makes Her Nervous About Doing The Last of Us Season 2

The Last of Us’ Season 2 renewal has excited star Bella Ramsey, but has also made her nervous as she knows what is coming.

Spoiler Alert: Possible Spoilers Ahead for The Last of Us Season 2

The Last of Us has taken the world by storm, and even after a slight rating hit over its third episode’s divergence from the video game and gay-orientated story, it is still one of the highest-rated shows of all time. That meant that not only has the series seen increasing viewership week after week, but it has already had a second season green-lit by HBO. For star Bella Ramsey, the prospect of season two is really exciting, but there is something that makes her very nervous about what is coming for her character. She told the Happy Sad Confused podcast:
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

“I’m really excited to be honest for the Ellie Dina story. I’ve watched a cut together, someone’s made a phenomenal – I don’t know how they do it – like an amazing edit of just like the gameplay, like Ellie and Dina’s love story. So I’m excited to play that out. And also the complexity of her relationship with Joel and how that gets decidedly more complex, and I’m looking forward to that. And the violence that ensues is thrilling in a way, to get to maybe explore that in a really safe environment. It will be cool. But I am nervous about it too. Like I’m nervous about, because I know what happens in the second game and I’m nervous about being potentially without Pedro for a while. It’s gonna be really sad.”

With the first season telling the story of the first video game, the second season will take its central storyline from the second game in the franchise. With the first game being considered one of the best of all time, it is not surprising that the series is following its lead, but will the controversial second game be the show’s undoing?

What Will Season Two Bring to The Last of Us?

Sony Interactive Entertainment

As Ramsey alluded to in her comments, events in The Last of Us Part II lead to a large part of the story where Ellie is without Joel, which means that if the series follows the narrative as expected, the same thing will happen in the show. This could mean that while the first season is based on Joel’s story at the heart of the series, the second season will focus on Ellie.

The second game contains many pivotal moments between Ellie and the new character Dina, who becomes the companion for Ellie during Joel’s absence. This means that there will undoubtedly be a big shift coming in the second season, but the question is how fans will react to the changes from what has been an almost perfect start to the show.

With a second season already renewed, how the series fares in the coming episodes is pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Still, there is no doubt that everyone involved with the series would like to see it continue to receive the accolades that have seen it grow its audience volume week on week. New episodes of The Last of Us premiere on HBO each Sunday.
