Beyoncé Drops New Song to Celebrate Release of ‘Renaissance’ Film – The Hollywood Reporter
Dec 3, 2023
Beyoncé surprised fans with a new song, “My House,” to celebrate the release of her new concert film Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé on Friday.
It’s the Grammy-winning singer’s first new music since she dropped her album Renaissance last year. Following the song’s release, Apple Music wrote on its official Instagram, “A gift from the queen for the opening weekend of the Renaissance film. Listen now to @beyonce’s new track ‘MY HOUSE.’”
It’s not only been a busy week for Beyoncé, including her film’s Los Angeles and London premieres, but it’s been a busy, record-breaking year for the singer.
Earlier this year, at the Grammy Awards in February, Beyoncé set a new record as the artist with the most Grammy wins of all time. At the 2023 ceremony, she took home awards for best dance/electronic music album, best dance/electronic recording, best traditional R&B performance and best R&B song.
Then in May, she headed out on her Renaissance World Tour, which became her highest-grossing tour to date. The singer concluded the tour in October.
Now, Beyoncé’s concert film Renaissance documents the singer’s journey on her biggest tour in support of her seventh studio album. The movie features behind-the-scenes footage as well as her onstage performances.
“In its most ecstatic moments, Renaissance feels like a spiritual experience unto itself,” The Hollywood Reporter‘s TV critic Angie Han wrote in her review of the film. “With her album, her show and now her documentary, she creates a congregation where her fans can feel not just free, but reborn in love.”
Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, produced by the singer’s Parkwood Entertainment, hits theaters Friday.
