Bob Odenkirk Joins Season 2 Cast Of FX’s Hit Kitchen Drama

Apr 27, 2023

As if “The Bear” Season 2 couldn’t be more hyped. Variety reports that “Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk joins the cast for the upcoming season of FX‘s hit kitchen drama. No word on who Odenkirk will play yet, but it looks to be a guest role.

Still, star power is star power, and Odenkirk is a big addition in that regard. The actor joins a cast led by Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, an elite NYC chef who returns to Chicago to take over his family’s sandwich shop after his brother Mikey commits suicide. The ensemble cast also includes breakout star Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Matty Matheson, Richard Esteras, and Jose M. Cervantes as the shop’s chaotic kitchen staff. “The Bear” also stars Abby Elliot as Carmy’s sister, Natalie, and Chris Wataskie as Pete, her husband.
Christopher Storer‘s “The Bear” was one of 2022’s biggest shows, and that’s putting it mildly. After its premiere, the series swiftly became FX’s most-watched half-hour shoe. It also snatched up awards left and right during Awards season, winning at the Screen Actors, Writers and Producers Guild Awards. White also won a Golden Globe for his performance in the series.
“Better Call Saul” only just wrapped its final season, but Odenkirk is back on AMC with another series already, “Lucky Hank.” That dark comedy stars the actor as a college professor undergoing a mid-life crisis. Odenkirk also has the actioner sequel “Nobody 2” on the way. Expect him to be in the running for awards at the Emmys this year, too: Odenkirk has received 5 Emmy nods overall for his performance as Saul Goodman on both “Better Call Saul” and “Breaking Bad.”
As for when “The Bear” Season 2 drops? June 2023, with Season 1 currently streaming on Hulu. So, not long to wait to discover who Odenkirk plays opposite White’s Carmy.
