The Wrap has reported that Holland could be earning over $100 million for starring in Sony and Marvel Studios’ record-breaking movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to three insiders, the actor was given a base salary of $20 million, which is a $10 million increase after Spider-Man: No Way Home. This would make Holland one of Hollywood’s biggest earners in 2026, including his role in The Odyssey, which continues to break records of its own. Three weeks after Brand New Day’s release, the new Spider-Man movie has crossed $2 billion at the global box office. This is a huge milestone not only for Holland, but it’s the most profitable movie in the entire Spider-Man franchise. The inside source stated that the actor “will make at least” $100 million, but as the box office numbers continue to rise and the actor’s backend bonus is reportedly not capped, he could make even more.
Holland earned $250,000 reportedly for his appearance as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, and has certainly come a long way since the beginning of his MCU career. The Destin Daniel Cretton movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, broke records in its opening weekend after earning $932 million at the global box office and was the biggest domestic opening of all time at $360 million. This isn’t the first time Holland’s salary was revealed, as his backend bonus for Avengers: Infinity War was subtly revealed. Fellow actor Tom Hollander spoke on Late Night with Seth Meyers about accidentally receiving Holland’s Marvel bonus and stated:
“It was an astonishing amount of money. It was not his salary. It was his first box office bonus. Not the whole of it, the first one. And it was more money than I’ve ever — it was a seven-figure sum.”
At the time of writing, Holland hadn’t been confirmed to return as Spider-Man for the MCU’s big crossover event, Avengers: Doomsday, but signs are pointing to the actor stepping back into the suit for the follow-up movie Avengers: Secret Wars, after Sadie Sink’s character Jean Grey was officially revealed.
Holland can be seen saving New York City in Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters now.
