Jul 10, 2024

It seems like we’re inching closer and closer to a production start date on the ‘Spider-Man’ spinoff series, “Spider-Noir.” How do we know this? Well, it’s clear Sony is deep into casting for the series, as we have learned yet another name that is being added to the list.

According to Variety, Brendan Gleeson has been added to the cast of the upcoming superhero series, “Spider-Noir.” He joins previously announced cast members such as Lamorne Morris and lead actor Nicolas Cage. There’s no word on which role Gleeson will play in the series, except the report claims he could be the main villain of the series.
Gleeson most recently appeared in the award-winning film, “The Banshees of Inisherin,” which earned him an Oscar nomination. He’s a veteran of various films and TV projects. He’s definitely no stranger to TV series, nabbing big roles in shows such as “Mr. Mercedes” and “State of the Union.” His next film project is reportedly the “Joker” sequel.

“Spider-Noir” follows the story of a down-on-his-luck private detective in 1930s New York City, as he grapples with growing older and his former life as a superhero. Cage has previously played the character in the ‘Spider-Verse’ films, but it seems as if the “Spider-Noir” version might be a little different.
There’s no release date set for “Spider-Noir.” The series is meant to debut on MGM+ and Prime Video around the world.
