Bri Duffield Has Big Love for This Beloved ‘Below Deck’ Chief Stew
May 6, 2025
Summary
Brianna Duffield would love to work with Aesha Scott due to their similar energetic and positive personalities.
Similar to Aesha, Bri brings a positive and adaptable mindset to work on the boat.
Although Bri likes working with Lara Rigby, she also hopes to work with Kate Chastain due to her fiery personality.
Below Deck Down Under Stew Brianna Duffield enjoyed working for Chief Stew Lara Rigby but there is one chief stew in the Below Deck universe she’d love to work with – and it probably won’t come as a huge shock to anyone.
“I would love to work for Aesha [Scott],” Bri tells Collider. “I just think her energy and my energy would be just so much fun. I just think we’d be all smiles the whole time. She’s hilarious and we both kind of bring the same energy to the table. Even when I watch her stories on Instagram, I find myself almost being like, ‘Oh I know, and her voice,’ and I think we’re very similar in so many ways.”
One similarity they already share is that they both worked for Captain Jason Chambers. Captain Jason’s friendly but firm approach to leadership has quickly made him a favorite among both the crew and viewers. “I mean, who doesn’t want to work for Captain Jason,” Bri says. “But I also would like to see, Captain Sandy [Yawn] … how she runs a boat, so I would love to work for her one day as well.” And guess who is Captain Sandy’s current chief stew on Below Deck Mediterranean?
How are Bri and Aesha Similar in the ‘Below Deck’ Universe?
Bri and Aesha share more than working for the same captain. Bri described herself to Collider as having a personality similar to a Golden Retriever – someone who is generally happy and positive all the time and eager. Aesha — the self-described “happy Kiwi” — shares Bri’s sunny disposition, often flashing a quick smile and maintaining a consistently upbeat attitude.
While reflecting on her connection with Season 3 love interest, Harry Van Vliet, Bri describes their shared upbeat energy as a major draw. “We’re both positive and I just love being around positive people. That’s why I gravitated toward Harry,” she says.
Like Aesha, Bri considers herself someone who goes with the flow — especially when it comes to work on the boat. “If my boss tells me to do something, I do it with a smile because that’s always worked for me,” Bri explains. Aesha shares a similar mindset, often adapting to last-minute changes without complaint.

That flexible attitude came in handy when Bri had to pivot from service to housekeeping — a shift she embraced, though she admits it took a toll. “We’d been through so many charters, and when you stay in service for too long, it gets really demanding because you’re constantly at the guests’ beck and call,” she says. “It was definitely exhausting, especially jumping between service and housekeeping. We were already short one interior crew member — honestly, we probably needed two — so we were just trying to make it work with what we had. I hit full exhaustion.”
Still, service is where Bri feels most at home. “Lara knew I had a lot of fine dining and hospitality experience,” she says. “That was the only job I could really do while modeling, so I started in fine dining when I was 15 or 16 and stuck with it for years.”
Bri also shares Aesha’s attitude toward going on reality TV, specifically Below Deck. Her advice to anyone wanting to join the show: “They should just be themselves and kind of hold true to their values and hold true to that through the whole thing.”
There’s Another ‘Below Deck’ Chief Stew Brianna Would Love to Work For too
While Aesha and Bri seem like a Below Deck match made in heaven, there’s one other chief stew she’d love to work for, for a very specific reason. “I also love Kate [Chastain],” she says of Below Deck’s former Chief Stew Kate Chastain. “I think she’s fiery, and she kind of reminds me of a lot of people in New Jersey, so I would like to work with Kate and I would like to see Kate like kind of give it to someone.”
But she adds that working Lara was wonderful too. “I think she’s a class act,” Bri says, adding that Lara is excellent at her job and she learned a lot this season.
