Jurassic World: Chaos Theory – What Happened to Brooklynn (And Did She Really Die)?

With the first season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory telling the audience that Brooklynn is gone, is that really true? Let’s take a look.

In Season 2 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, we learned that Brooklynn actually survived the attack by the Allosaurus, which happened in Season 1. She joins the Dinosaur Liberation Front and travels to Dubai on a secret mission. Meanwhile, the rest of the team and Zayna find an underground lair where dinosaurs are cloned, and is linked to the villaious Soyona Santos.
Netflix released Seasons 1 and 2 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory in May and October 2024, respectively, and the show quickly became very popular. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a stellar 100% critical and 93% audience rating. Netflix released an official plot synopsis for Jurassic World: Chaos Theory:

“The Nublar Five crash land into adventure as they encounter old (and new) friends, face off against even more lethal dinosaur threats, and deal with the fallout of Brooklynn’s stunning rejection of them. All the while Brooklynn’s inner turmoil continues to grow as she is drawn deeper into the Broker’s criminal web of dinosaur trafficking and espionage.”

‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ Relaunches the Film Series

While the animated show Jurassic World: Chaos Theory takes place between the second and third live-action Jurassic World movies, Jurassic World: Rebirth is considered a soft reboot of the film series, promising to bring it back to its roots. It’s written by David Koepp, who co-wrote the first Jurassic Park with Michael Crichton and also wrote The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Gareth Edwards of Godzilla and Star Wars: Rogue One fame is directing.
The film takes place five years after Jurassic World: Dominion and sees the dinosaurs surviving in tropical climates since the rest of the world is inhospitable. Scarlett Johansson stars as Zora Bennett, a special operative who is hired to lead a small team to one of the original research facilities that helped develop the dinosaurs for the original Jurassic Park. The team includes a pharmaceutical rep (Rupert Friend) and paleontologist (Jonathan Bailey) who are hoping to extract DNA from dinosaurs that could help create cutting-edge medicines to help humans. Mahershala Ali also stars.
And as it always happens with a Jurassic Park / Jurassic World movie, chaos ensues when the team is stranded, along with others who found their way to the island. Despite being a soft relaunch, Jurassic World: Rebirth still takes place within the universe established by the first film. Reactions to the first trailer have been a mix of excitement but also those wondering if there is a need for another Jurassic World movie.
Jurassic World: Rebirth opens July 2, 2025, while the third season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory premieres on Apr. 3, 2025 on Netflix.
