Charlie Cox Has Perfect Response To Potential Spider-Man, Deadpool & Daredevil Team-Up In The MCU
Sep 7, 2024
Daredevil actor Charlie Cox addresses a potential MCU crossover movie starring Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Deadpool. Charlie Cox’s Daredevil officially joined the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer, and he fought under his vigilante identity in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Meanwhile, Deadpool joined the MCU in Deadpool & Wolverine, where he first visited Earth-616 to apply for a vacancy in the Avengers’ ranks, and Spider-Man moved on with his life after Spider-Man: No Way Home’s ending as an independent hero.
At Rose City Comic-Con 2024, where Screen Rant is in attendance, Charlie Cox answers MCU-related questions. When asked about the possibility of a “Team Red” team-up that brings together Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Deadpool, Cox avoids confirming or denying anything, but he expresses his interest in a similar team appearance. Check out Cox’s answers below:
How would you feel about Team Red in the MCU?
“I’ll have to check my schedule!”
Who would you want to team-up with in the MCU?
“There is a character with some great comics history, and I got one scene with them, but I’d love a Daredevil & Punisher movie.”
How Marvel Can Make A Spider-Man, Deadpool & Daredevil Team-Up Happen
The MCU’s Team Red Crossover Is More Likely To Happen In A Grounded Post-Phase 6 Project
At first glance, the MCU’s upcoming Spider-Man 4 seems like the perfect opportunity to assemble Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, as Spider-Man: No Way Home left Peter Parker as a street-level superhero in need of creating new relationships with other grounded heroes. However, it seems like Spider-Man 4 will be another multiversal MCU installment. In that case, a Team Red crossover could only happen after Phase 6, once the Multiverse Saga comes to an end.
Therefore, an event as ambitious as a Team Red crossover would probably have Spider-Man as the leading character
A shared adventure between Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Deadpool is unlikely to happen in a Daredevil installment, as Matt Murdock is the most grounded of the three heroes. Following Deadpool & Wolverine’s successful duo dynamics, an MCU Deadpool sequel could exchange Wolverine for Daredevil and Spider-Man. But there’s one condition that almost guarantees a Team Red crossover has to happen in a Spider-Man movie: Sony’s deal with Marvel requires both studios to coordinate Spider-Man’s MCU appearances carefully. Therefore, an event as ambitious as a Team Red crossover would probably have Spider-Man as the leading character.
If Spider-Man 4 explores a multiversal plot once again, then Spider-Man’s long-awaited street-level adventure will likely take place in Spider-Man 5. Kingpin’s anti-vigilante plan teased in Echo’s ending scene could inspire Spider-Man and Daredevil to join forces and attempt to topple Kingpin in New York, while Deadpool gets accustomed to living in Earth-616 after Avengers: Secret Wars and finds his next mission in helping Spider-Man and Daredevil. Kingpin and Daredevil’s roles in Spider-Man 5 could also bring other MCU street-level characters into the mix, including Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Elodie Young’s Elektra, and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones.
