Darth Revan Embraces The Dark Side In Incredible Gender-Swapped Star Wars Cosplay
Sep 1, 2024
Darth Revan, greatest of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’s heroes (or villains) is reimagined in this incredible new cosplay. Technically, the KOTOR games gave players the ability to choose whether Revan was male or female; naturally, the books and comics of the old Star Wars Expanded Universe eventually had to pin this down, though. Still, there’s nothing to say whether Revan is male or female in canon.
Step forward That Star Wars Girl, a fantastic cosplayer who’s reimagined Darth Revan in three epic images.
This Darth Revan is a true Dark Lord of the Sith, a sultry and disturbing villain with striking Sith eyes. It’s surely only a matter of time before Darth Revan comes to Star Wars canon, and it will be thrilling to see how dark the character really is.
When Will Star Wars Canon Tell Darth Revan’s Story?
It’s Just Begging To Be Told
Back at last year’s Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm unveiled a new official Star Wars timeline that showed a very familiar logo for the Old Republic Era. Darth Revan has already been confirmed as part of the canon KOTOR story, name-dropped by the Sith cultists as they chanted the names of past Dark Lords of the Sith. In fact, the Sith Legions led by Palpatine were each named after another Sith Lord, and one was called the Revan Legion.
It’s frankly more than a little frustrating that the entire KOTOR era is essentially unexplored in canon, making the use of that iconic logo rather curious. This has led to some speculation Lucasfilm is indeed working on something in this part of the timeline – perhaps one of the new Star Wars projects that have been rumored recently. Keanu Reeves is a popular fancast for Revan, and there have been claims Lucasfilm want him for a major role.
If a KOTOR project of some kind is indeed in the works, there probably won’t be any news until Star Wars Celebration 2025. D23 would have been the last reasonable venue for an announcement before then, and Lucasfilm’s presentation there was quite disappointing; it feel as though next year’s Celebration is effectively an opportunity to relaunch the franchise in some way. If that is the case, it would be fitting for KOTOR and Darth Revan – whether male or female – to play a major role.
