Based on J.M. Barrie‘s original novel and Disney’s 1953 animated film, “Peter Pan & Wendy” follows Wendy Darling to Never Land, where Peter Pan faces off against Captain Hook and his pirate cohorts.
Here’s an official synopsis of the movie, courtesy of Disney:
Peter Pan & Wendy introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Never Land. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.
“Peter Pan & Wendy” sees Alexander Molony (in his acting debut) and Ever Anderson in the title roles. Jude Law leads the rest of the cast as Captain Hook, with Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell and Alyssa Wapanatahk as Tiger Lily. Other cast includes Joshua Pickering, Jacobi Jupe, Jim Gaffigan, Molly Park, and Alan Tudyk.
“Peter Pan & Wendy” premieres exclusively on Disney+ on April 28. And expect Lowery’s next directorial work on the streamer soon: he directs an episode of the upcoming “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” also starring Law. Watch a trailer for “Peter Pan & Wendy” below.
