Deadpool 3 Rumors Heat up After Taylor Swift Hangs Out With Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman

Nov 14, 2023

Summary

Taylor Swift’s possible cameo in Deadpool 3 has sparked rumors and theories among fans, thanks to her friendship with Ryan Reynolds and previous connection to the franchise. Speculation about Taylor Swift’s role in the movie ranges from playing Lady Deadpool to Dazzler or even Sue Storm from The Fantastic Four. With a bigger budget and the integration of the X-Men universe, Deadpool 3 is one of the most highly anticipated films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Is Taylor Swift in Deadpool 3? We may not know the answer to that question until the film’s release in May 2024, but there is no doubt that the singer, the movie’s stars, and its director are not helping to quell the rumors of her cameo. The third adventure of the Merc with a Mouth is one of the most anticipated films of next year and of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Largely, because it will be the first R-rated movie in the franchise, and will mark the official introduction of the X-Men universe into the MCU. But there are other reasons too.

The first Deadpool, having a very low budget due to the enormous risk that Fox was taking by presenting a comic book adaptation to a limited due to its humor and violence, didn’t include many surprises for fans of the mutants and the original X-Men films. Deadpool 2, however, was able to take full advantage of the increase in the budget, and even joke about it, showing only for a brief moment some characters from the wider franchise.

Deadpool 3 will have a huge budget as it will be produced by Marvel Studios, and rumors regarding possible cameos are driving fans crazy. One of those names that has come up while speaking about the movie is Taylor Swift, who was in fact fortunate enough to wear the original costume from the first film due to her close friendship with Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively.

This past weekend, Taylor was present at the Chiefs-Jets game, attending alongside Lively and Reynolds. This is no surprise considering the friendship that already exists between the three of them. However, they were joined by none other than Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy, star and director of Deadpool 3, which once again lit up social media with theories about the singer’s participation in the project (via Shawn Levy’s X):

Who Could Taylor Swift Play in Deadpool 3?

Although Swift’s appearance in the film is not confirmed, and could even be a simple cameo as herself rather than playing a character, nothing has stopped fans from creating theories about the heroine or villain that the musician could play.

Most believe that it could be Wanda Wilson aka Lady Deadpool, a character from Earth-3010. Considering that the film’s alleged plot details suggest that Wade Wilson will travel through different realities, it wouldn’t be surprising for him to encounter a different version of himself, in this case a female one. However, other fans have gone a little further, proposing more unexpected characters for the actress.

Some say she will play Dazzler, a mutant with the ability to turn sound into light. Others have even named Sue Storm, one of the leaders of The Fantastic Four as the character she would play, someone who hasn’t even been introduced into the MCU yet. And in fact, it is not the only version of the invisible woman that could appear, since other rumors indicate that Jessica Alba is one of the surprises of the film, appearing with her version of Sue Storm.

Deadpool 3 is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 3, 2024.
