DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Director Shawn Levy Reportedly Has His Pick of Marvel Projects — GeekTyrant
Jul 20, 2024
It was previously reported that Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy was in talks to direct the next Avengers movie for Marvel Studios. Not long after that, a report claimed that he might pass on that project. Now, a new report from The Streamr says Marvel Studios has found a director for Avengers 5. We just don’t know if that director is Levy. I’m sure we’ll find out who that is at Comic-Con later this month. The report goes on to claim that Levy has been offered the opportunity to direct several projects, with Avengers: Secret Wars, Armor Wars, and the X-Men reboot among the possibilities. Apparently, the filmmaker has his pick of projects if he wants to stay in business with Marvel. Kevin Feige obviously loved what the filmmaker did with Deadpool & Wolverine, and they want to keep him around, which isn’t surprising. When talking about his experience working with Marvel, Feige said: “This is the first time I’m coming into a franchise that existed before I created it, but whatever anxieties I had about working for the [Marvel] machine were unfounded. I’ve had as much creative freedom and empowerment on this movie as any movie I’ve ever made.”It sounds like Levy enjoyed his time working with Marvel and if it really was as great as an experience as he says it was, there’s no doubt he’d want to make another movie with them. It’s just a matter of what project he wants to take on next. What Marvel movie would you like to see Levy direct next next?
