‘Deli Boys’ Gets Season 2 Renewal by Hulu
Aug 30, 2025
The infamous “Deli Boys” are back open for business. For those who probably missed the news, Hulu has officially renewed the crime comedy series Deli Boys for Season 2. Created by Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner, known for the popular HBO series Girls, Single Drunk Female, and Nora Silver, Deli Boys follows two Pakistani American brothers, Raj (Saagar Shaikh) and Mir (Asif Ali), as they try to operate their late father — Baba’s (Iqbal Theba) — underground drug smuggling business through the family-owned deli store in Philadelphia. With the help of Baba’s partner-in-crime, Auntie “Lucky” (Poorna Jagannathan), the brothers run the business and try to evade the FBI’s sleuthing suspicions. Brian George (Seinfeld) and Amita Rao (Adults) also star. Following its release in March 2025, Deli Boys, launched by Onyx Collective and 20th Television, received relatively positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. Per Rotten Tomatoes, Season 1 of the Hulu comedy earned an applause-worthy 96% on the Tomatoemeter and received a rather decent rating of 84% on the Popcornmeter. MovieWeb’s very own Greg Archer shared that he thought Deli Boys was “fresh, inventive and downright hilarious” in his raving written review of the show. Archer also praised the show’s starring leads, Shaikh and Ali, writing:
“The series stars Asif Ali (WandaVision) and Saagar Shaikh (Ms. Marvel), and Poorna Jagannathan, [and] they create an instant dream team who so expertly master this zany Hulu comedy, making it both enjoyable and relatable with their groovy comic timing.”
A ‘Wednesday’ Star Is Joining the Cast of Hulu’s ‘Deli Boys’
Netflix
Even though it has been confirmed that the main cast members are returning for more drug smuggling mayhem for Deli Boys Season 2, there will also be a new face joining the chaos. Along with the season renewal, Hulu also announced that Wednesday star Fred Armisen has been cast in Deli Boys as a series regular for Season 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 58-year-old actor will play a “gambling savant with a casino empire” who travels to Philadelphia (where the “Deli Boys” reside) to reclaim his crown of jewels. Per the outlet, he’s able to “read people like cards” and is “uniquely brilliant and deeply unhinged.” Something tells us that his arrival in Philly won’t be taken well by the “Deli Boys.” In case you didn’t know, Armisen reprised his role as Uncle Fester in Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday. However, he wasn’t the only former cast member to reprise his role in the new season. Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams reunited with Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Larissa Weems, who met an untimely fate after being poisoned by Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci) in Season 1. Hulu hasn’t confirmed a premiere date for Deli Boys Season 2 or revealed when the cast and crew will start production for the new season. But when we find that out, you’ll be the first to know. Season 1 of Deli Boys is available to watch now on Hulu.
