Espionage ‘Star Wars’ Series Makes Grand Return For Final Run This April

Mar 5, 2025

The first season of “Andor” (a critical darling) gave “Star Wars” fans an impressive attempt to explore the origins of “Rogue One: A Star Wars” character Cassian Andor, a rebellious spy who is tasked with a suicide mission to get his mitts on the Death Star plans for the Rebellion and led directly into the events of the original film from 1977.

A new special look video has dropped which further explores the final fun of episodes.

If you weren’t aware, “Andor” covers a period of time leading up to the fate of Cassian during the Battle of Scarif and the Rebel Alliance gaining their big advantage in their war against The Empire.

Things are going to be wrapped up with the second and final season that debuts next month, as creator/showrunner Tony Gilroy is going to step away from the franchise. Unlike other “Star Wars” shows there is very much a finality to “Andor” (one of the big selling points of the “Star Wars” show) as many of these series have open-ended visions for endless seasons while others ended over disappointing viewership.

Joining lead Diego Luna on the call sheet includes Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, and Elizabeth Dulau.

Also, we will see Alan Tudyk, Ben Mendelsohn, and Forest Whitaker (who briefly appeared in season one) reprise their roles that were first established in “Rogue One.”

A logline for the final season of “Andor” via Lucasfilm:

The long-awaited conclusion in “Andor” Season 2 will see the characters and their relationships intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices, and conflicting agendas will become profound.

We can’t wait to see how Lucasfilm and Gilroy stick the landing.

Audiences can start streaming “Andor” starting on April 22 exclusively on Disney+, and that aforementioned special look can be viewed below.
