Family Legacy & Destruction Loom On The Horizon
Aug 30, 2024
So, with Kevin Costner ousted from the show, “Yellowstone,” TV’s #1 show, was supposed to come to an end this fifth and would-be final season. But somewhere along the lines, Paramount and creator/writer Taylor Sheridan changed their minds. As we speak, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who play Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, are negotiating to return to a surprise season six with the rest of the cast hopefully to return two once those two anchor stars are secured. But that still means “Yellowstone” season five—which will be something of a final chapter regardless—still has to be dealt with.

With that season looming, Paramount today revealed the first teaser and poster ahead of the show’s highly anticipated return on Sunday, November 10, on Paramount Network. Additionally, fans or newcomers can experience the phenomenon from the very beginning as seasons 1-5 will replay on Paramount Network this upcoming Labor Day Weekend starting Friday, 8/30, at 7pm PT/10pm ET and continuing all day Saturday, 8/31, through Monday, 9/2.
What’s in store in season five? Well, we know that “Yellowstone” season five started shooting around May, and Kevin Costner was in Cannes promoting “Horizon” but still hoping the issues between him, Sheridan, and Paramount could be patched up. Whether he realized it or not, it was too late, and that ship had sailed.
So while his patriarch character, John Dutton, could return in old footage, he’s not part of the season, and it’s a good bet he dies off-screen either as the season starts or in the first episode. And note the new poster teases someone standing in a graveyard. Returning to the cast in season five are all the main players: Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Forrie J. Smith, and many more.
