Amazon MGM Studios has released the first officialy image from its live-action Masters of the Universe movie and it teases Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man holding his Power Sword. While we don’t see Galitzine’s face, we do get a look at his He-Man-style muscular physique. You know, I wish I could be excited about this movie, but damn the filmmakers for setting it on Earth. Masters of the Universe should be entirely set on Eterinia. The film is said to introduce Adam as an ordinary man, working “a boring office job” in the “real world.” The Masters of the Universe stories are merely tales Adam heard as a little kid.The leaked synopsis reads: “10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. “After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. “But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!”The movie it being directed by Travis Knight and it also stars Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie (Community) as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba (Luther) as Man-At-Arms, while Jared Leto (Blade Runner 2049) will play the villain Skeletor. Then there’s Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops.The script was was written by Chris Butler (ParaNorman), and it builds on an earlier draft by David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin are producing. You can see some previously leaked photos from the set of the film here.
