Garret Dillahunt Joins DC Studios Detective Series

As we move closer to production, we’re starting to learn the names of the actors who will round out the cast for the upcoming DC Studios series, “Lanterns.” We already know the two leads, Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre, but those two need some actors surrounding them, right?

According to Deadline, Garret Dillahunt is the latest actor to join DC Studios’ upcoming HBO series, “Lanterns.” The series is inspired by the “Green Lantern” DC comics and will tell the story of two Green Lanterns who come to Earth to investigate a crime. In the series, Dillahunt is expected to play William Macon, a self-righteous modern cowboy who masks his ambition behind a facade.Dillahunt is an incredibly busy actor with a ton of credits over the decades. Recently, he has shown up in films such as “A Million Miles Away,” “Where the Crawdads Sing,” “Ambulance,” and “Army of the Dead.” On the TV side of things, he has shown up in series such as “Raising Hope,” “Fear the Walking Dead,” and most recently, “Hysteria.”

It’s still unclear when we might see “Lanterns” show up on HBO. The series marks the first live-action TV project for DC Studios, who debuted an incredibly ambitious lineup nearly two years ago. The new DCU begins with the forthcoming “Creature Commandos” and then next year’s “Superman.” DC Studios is run by co-CEOS James Gunn and Peter Safran.
