Goodbye ‘Reacher,’ Amazon’s Best 8-Episode Action Thriller Substitute Officially Returns To Streaming

Oct 3, 2026

And so, we say goodbye to Jack Reacher. For now, anyway. The Alan Ritchson action hero has once again dominated the streaming world (alongside the new franchise spin-off, Neagley), but with Season 4 now in the rearview mirror, it’s time for another of Amazon’s avenging soldiers to reemerge and take his rightful place at the top of the charts.
The Amazon Action Thriller Is “Reacher Meets Bourne”

Officially set to return this month following a four-year absence, MCU and Jurassic World star Chris Pratt will lock and load as he reprises the role of US Navy SEAL James Reece in the long-awaited second season of Prime Video’s hit action thriller adaptation, The Terminal List. Released back in 2022, The Terminal List is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Jack Carr and follows Pratt as James Reece, a Navy SEAL who, after returning home, begins to question his own memory of an ambush he and his team faced while on a covert mission. The series was deeply divisive at the time (something which creator Jack Carr blamed on the series’ lack of “woke stuff”), earning scores of 42% from critics alongside a Reacher-beating 94% (the highest Ritchson has gotten on the Popcornmeter is 91%) from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Now back with an all-new chapter, The Terminal List Season 2 is based on author and creator Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer, and will expand the story in a globe-hopping mission with Pratt’s tortured hero at the center. Season 2 will send Reece on a journey of violent redemption as he searches for a new purpose after finishing his list in Season 1. This time, the series will take Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, where he’ll uncover a conspiracy that reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties into his own family’s history.
Both ‘The Terminal List’ & ‘Reacher’ Have Now Launched Action Franchises

Much like Reacher, The Terminal List has also exploded into a franchise. Following the first season, a prequel series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, was released in August last year and was met with far more favorable reviews from critics than its principal series, scoring 75% and 80% from critics and audiences, respectively.

Joined by returning cast members Tom Hopper, Constance Wu, Dar Salim, and Luke Hemsworth, with Season 2 adding several new recruits in Gabriel Luna, Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, and more, all eight episodes of The Terminal List Season 2 are set to premiere on October 21, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
