Greed Will Be The Thing That Kills Us All In New ‘Yellowstone’ Spin-Off

Dec 16, 2022

After the success of “Yellowstone” and “1883,” Taylor Sheridan’s empire keeps growing (not to mention there are crime shows, “The Mayor Of Kingstown” and “The Tulsa King”). Next up for Sheridan is yet another “Yellowstone” spin-off, another Dutton family origin story with some huge names attached.

“1923, the next installment of the ongoing interconnected story, introduces a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob (Harrison Ford) and matriarch Cara (Helen Mirren). The series will explore the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west and the Duttons who call it home.
In addition to Ford and Mirren, “1923” also stars Darren Mann (“Animal Kingdom”), Michelle Randolph (“A Snow White Christmas”), James Badge Dale (“Hightown”), Marley Shelton (“Scream”), Brian Geraghty (“Big Sky”), Aminah Nieves (“Blueberry”), and Jerome Flynn (“Game of Thrones”).
In addition to the December 18 premiere on Paramount+, Paramount Network will also host a linear airing of the “1923” debut episode, immediately following a new episode of “Yellowstone” as a special simulcast event.
The theme of this new one? Well, familiar themes that run throughout “Yellowstone,” like violence always finds us wherever we go, and in this new trailer, “greed will be the thing that kills us all.” Regardless, themes of violence and destiny seem to be laden everywhere.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, “1923” is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, and Ben Richardson. “1923” is the latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which also includes the upcoming series “Lioness” and “Land Man.”
From Academy Award-nominee Taylor Sheridan, “1923” will debut on Sunday, December 18, in the U.S. and Canada. Watch the new trailer below.
