Harley Quinn Will Feature a Great Guest in its Valentine’s Day Special

May 13, 2023

While it seemed that the world of DC was falling apart, Harley Quinn, in her animated version, managed to stay on her feet, confirming a fourth season of her adventures. And not only that, the series will return earlier than planned with a special for Valentine’s Day, focusing on the relationship between Harley and Poison Ivy.

The special will see the protagonist doing everything possible to make her first February 14 with Ivy a success. For his part, Bane will have trouble impressing an unexpected date, Clayface will fall in love with himself, and Darkseid will have his eyes, and perhaps his Omega Sanction, on a woman’s heart.

The episode will feature the voices of Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Matt Oberg, James Wolk, Natalie Morales, Chris Diamantopoulos, James Adomian, Jim Rash, Vanessa Marshall, Janet Varney, Rachel Dratch, Leila Birch, Tyler James Williams, Josh Helman, Casey Wilson and Michael Ironside, plus a special guest.

The Future of Harley Quinn in the DCU

Warner Bros.

Within the DCU announcements from James Gunn and Peter Safran, there was no mention of the character or the animated series. However, its continuity seems to be assured. As for the version of Margot Robbie, considering that she was a part of The Suicide Squad and some of those characters will continue into the future, such as Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, Robbie may also get to continue playing her successful Harley, with which she earned the hearts of fans.

Meanwhile, the next live-action iteration of the anti-heroine will be in Joker 2. In Todd Phillips’ sequel, which still stands as an alternate universe like The Batman and its spin-offs, Lady Gaga will be the one in charge of giving life to Harley to tell her toxic and sick love story with Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck.

Rumors indicate that the film will be a musical showing how both characters meet as a patient and doctor in Arkham Asylum and how Arthur manages to push his companion towards madness. Joining Gaga and Phoenix will be Catherine Keener (Get Out) and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin). The highly anticipated Joker sequel is set for release on Oct. 4, 2024.
