HBO Sizzle Reel Gives First Looks For ‘Last Of Us’ Season 2, ‘Welcome To Derry’ & The Newest ‘Game Of Thrones’ Spinoff

Aug 5, 2024

Last night was the season finale of HBO’s massive hit, “House of the Dragon.” And knowing the premium network would have a ton of viewers, HBO released a sizzle reel of all the major shows coming to the network (and Max) for the rest of 2024 and into 2025. That means we got our first look at some of the most anticipated shows of next year.

As seen in the sizzle reel, we got our first looks at some highly anticipated 2025 HBO offerings such as “The Last of Us” Season 2, the “IT” spinoff series, “Welcome to Derry,” and the next “Game of Thrones” spinoff, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.”
The one show that was given the most footage is definitely “The Last of Us” Season 2. We don’t get anything in the way of plot, but there are plenty of quick shots of scenes that look just as emotional (and sometimes terrifying) as anything we saw in Season 1. For those that don’t watch, “The Last of Us” is a post-apocalyptic thriller about a man who has to escort a young girl across the country during a zombie apocalypse.

When you see the quick bits of footage from “Welcome to Derry,” it’s clear HBO wants you to be frightened. The footage shows a lot of young people screaming at the top of their lungs. That said, there doesn’t seem to be an appearance of Pennywise.
And perhaps the show with the most anticipation is the “Game of Thrones” spinoff, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.” The spinoff is based on George R.R. Martin’s novellas, “Tales of Dunk and Egg.” It tells the story of a hedge knight and a young boy who travel around Westeros.
Of course, there are many more shows that are teased in the sizzle reel, and you can watch it below:
